Radio Show final
So this is the final post on our radio show. I’m almost sad to see it end, just kidding. The radio part and actually making it was really fun! We are supposed to comment on what it was like to listen to our show live, i was working on Monday night and then on any comments or criticism we got… I don’t think anybody listened because I went to the #ds106radio on twitter and scrolled through to what should have been Monday night and there was nothing. I mean it makes sense, nobody is probably going to start off on Monday, it’s Monday… Anyways, the only things I would have improved about our show is maybe a little more content, but it is hard to drag a story out that long with just voice, and i would have found a way to use better microphones. But other than that i thought our show turned out great, I personally really liked the ending where we talked about the show, Real shows do that stuff all the time, hell The Walking Dead has a whole separate show dedicated to that stuff! I really enjoyed the whole process of making the project. I work for the Video Team at UMW and we make a lot of videos that are like a show and it was cool to make one just using audio. It presented its own separate challenges however because you can;t use any picture to show emotion, you have to vocalize it or provide some sort of sound effect. Honestly that was also the hardest part, filling any blank space with relevant sound. Going through and not just jumping from story clip to story clip, but adding a car chase noise or adding footsteps or something. The biggest advice i would offer to somebody doing this project is make a detailed plan of how you want the show to go, record it, then set a time to edit everything and a time to do more recording because going through editing you will realize there are spaces where you can fill with something or adding another scene would be great. Overall, it was a pretty fun project, i always enjoy working in groups especially when we get to pick them.
